Sunplus Introduces High Performance SoC SPG290 for Home and Personal Entertainment Platform at 2006 International CES
LAS VEGAS, 2006 International CES, Jan 05, 2006 - Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd. ("Sunplus" or "the company") (TAIEX: 2401, LSE: SUPD), a world-leading consumer IC design company, today introduced its highly integrated solution SPG290 for home and personal entertainment platform at 2006 international CES in Las Vegas. The SPG290 is the first 32-bit SoC on toys and ELAs market to offer all-in-one features, which can power variant multimedia applications such as interactive toys, high-end educational learning aids, portable media player, home entertainment box, handheld game pad, etc.

The Sunplus SPG290 high performance SoC is highly integrated with Sunplus 32-bit RISC S+Core™, MP3 and MPEG4 codec engines with CSTN and TFT LCD interface, built-in CD servo. The SPG290 SoC also supports various memory and IO interfaces including NAND/NOR Flash, Mask ROM, DRAM, SD card and USB to optimize the performance and BOM cost of portable media player and personal entertainment devices. Furthermore, end users can enjoy high video and audio quality from SPG290's 2D graphic engine, multi-channel sound processor, TV output through embedded high resolution ADC and DAC.
