SUNPLUS, WORLD'S LEADING CONSUMER IC DESIGN COMPANY, LICENSES DTS-ES / NEO:6 TECHNOLOGY
Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, R.O.C. November 30th, 2005 - Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd. ("Sunplus" or "the company") (TAIEX: 2401, LSE: SUPD), a world-leading MPEG IC manufacturer, announced today that it has licensed DTS' DTS-ES / Neo:6 technology for inclusion in their chips. Based in Taiwan, Sunplus produces IC chips for manufacturers of DVD players worldwide. This marks the first time Sunplus has licensed DTS-ES / Neo:6; previously, the company has incorporated DTS' Digital Surround 5.1-channel technology.

DTS-ES is the only digital audio format capable of delivering 6.1 channels of discrete sound in the consumer electronics market. The technology is licensed in combination with DTS Neo:6, which provides up to six full-band channels of matrix decoding from stereo material.

"DTS is pleased to see Sunplus expand its support and incorporation of DTS technologies into their IC offerings," said Brian Towne, Senior Vice President, Consumer Division at DTS. "We look forward to seeing more DVD players worldwide include the capability to play DTS-ES content."

"As one of the major IC suppliers for the consumer electronics industry, Sunplus is excited to broaden our licensing agreement with DTS, and to be able to provide extensions to DTSˇ¦ core 5.1 technology," said Wen-Kuan Chen, Vice President of Home Entertainment IC Design Unit at Sunplus. "As the CE industry continues to evolve, the demand for these technologies increases."
